Types of membership

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

This type of membership shall be opened to any individual person and shall consist of:

  • Three grades of Corporate Members:

i. Fellow - Any person who has been in the grade of Member for at least ten (10) years and has had at least seven (7) years of professional experience in a senior position in the field of quality and has made substantial contribution to the advancement of quality.
Admission to this grade is by invitation of the Board of Management and the number shall be limited.

ii Member - Any person who has appropriate University Degree or an academic or professional qualification recognized by the Board of Management as evidence of adequate educational attainment plus at least four (4) years of relevant experience shall be eligible to apply. Those without academic or professional qualification but with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience may also apply for consideration.

iii Associate - Any person who has appropriate University Degree or an academic or professional qualification recognized by the Board of Management as evidence of adequate educational attainment plus at least one (1) years of relevant experience shall be eligible to apply. Those without academic or professional qualification but with at least five (5) years of relevant experience may also apply for consideration.

  • Two grades of Non-Corporate Members:

i Affiliate Member - Any person who has successfully completed secondary education equivalent to SPM or GCE and who by his association with the Institute and its activities will conduce to general advancement of quality and its applications is eligible to be considered by the Board of Management.

ii Student Member - Any bona fide student in recognized University, college or Technical School, provided prior approval is obtained from the Vice-Chancellor or the Head of the School.

 

2. COMPANY MEMBERSHIP

This type of membership shall be opened to any Institutes, Companies, Government Departments, Agencies and Organisations who are interested in quality and/or share the same interests as the Institute.

Members of this type of membership shall be hereafter designated “Company Member”. One person from each organization may be nominated as its representative. The representative shall have the right to participate in all activities of the Institute except the right to vote in any meetings.
